Experts in the cryptocurrency space are getting more bullish by the day when it comes to the prospects for Bitcoin to exceed all previous price milestones. Muneeb Ali, co-founder of Stacks, made the case recently that Bitcoin is heading towards $1 million per coin, like gravity. Changpeng Zhao, the founder of Binance, is an optimistic believer that Bitcoin can reach the moon. He predicts it will reach anywhere from $500,000 to $1 million in the current bull cycle. These predictions have stirred an incredible amount of debate and scrutiny within the Puget Sound financial community.
Historical Milestones and Future Projections
In his defense of his $1 million projection, Muneeb Ali pointed to Bitcoin’s past. He outlined three distinct phases of growth. Bitcoin was $1,000 for the first time in November 2013— a tenfold increase from its value of $100 just four months earlier in July 2013. Fast forward four years to November 2017, it reached $10,000. Sure enough, by December 2024, Bitcoin had crossed the $100,000 mark.
Ali’s comments came during an interview on the RugRadio podcast hosted by Farokh Sarmad. He stressed the theme of Bitcoin going up 10x in very short time frames. It’s this historical data that creates his bullish confidence in Bitcoin’s growth potential.
The Bitcoin Act and Market Impact
Broad potential fallout from legislative moves, like the proposed Bitcoin Act, can have a dramatic impact on Bitcoin’s price as well. The BTC Acquisition Plan states the BTC Act calls for the U.S. government to purchase one million BTC. Here’s what our chief attorney Zack Shapiro found when he dug into the possible impacts of this new law. He claims it could push Bitcoin’s price to $1 million.
Changpeng Zhao expressed similar thoughts back in February, though he didn’t provide a date until May. The potential for government involvement complements the growing adoption rate and is one of many factors that stokes a bullish outlook on Bitcoin.
Changelly's Optimistic Timeline
Changelly, a cryptocurrency exchange platform, has offered up their monthly predictions. They offer an estimated timeline in which Bitcoin will likely reach the $1 million threshold. Their analysis indicates that Bitcoin may hit this milestone sooner than April 2031. Changelly’s Bitcoin predictions are quite optimistic, with the average price of BTC reaching $932,051 in January 2031.
The forecast doesn’t stop there, with an average price of $1,027,655 by April 2031, and $1,250,732 in November 2031. These projections do offer a tangible, if speculative, roadmap for Bitcoin’s potential future value.
